Eelis Paukku
Eelis holds a Doctor of Laws, a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration, and a Master of Science in Engineering, along with a Certified Public Auditor (KHT) qualification. He has been with the law firm KPF since its founding. On January 24, 2020, Eelis defended his doctoral dissertation, becoming the youngest Doctor of Laws in Finnish history. His dissertation focused on state aid and covered themes in EU law, commercial law, and environmental law. Following his dissertation, Eelis has published over seventy peer-reviewed articles, some of which appear in prestigious international journals.
Eelis is also a Certified Public Auditor with several years of experience in auditing, special audits, and specific inspections. He has served as a special auditor and assisted clients in numerous due diligence reviews. Eelis has conducted special audits for bankruptcy estates and provided auditor statements for a range of situations, such as corporate reorganizations. He has also supported clients in legal disputes and criminal cases requiring specialized expertise in tax and accounting law. Additionally, Eelis has taught tax law, environmental law, and family and inheritance law at the University of Lapland, as well as economic crime and financial statement law at the University of Vaasa. He has also served as a researcher on several research projects.
Eelis holds a Master of Science in Engineering in Industrial Management and a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration in Accounting. His broad academic background, which includes minor studies in software engineering, environmental engineering, economics, product management, and data analytics, enables him to understand clients’ industries and business operations comprehensively. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Economics at the University of Vaasa, specializing in accounting.
In addition to his work at KPF, Eelis has served as a board professional for several companies, where his responsibilities have included, alongside legal matters, the development of strategy, quality management, and internal accounting. In his consulting practice, Eelis has focused on tax law advisory, corporate transactions, audit-related issues, and environmental law consulting. He has also taken on computationally demanding cases, calculating project profitability, projected cash flows, and performing market and business-related modeling.
